I am a mom of 4, passionate about birth equality and bodily autonomy. My family and I live in the beautiful Santiam Canyon, where we enjoy being close to nature and learning everything we can about self-sustainability. One of my biggest hobbies is using sustainably harvested herbs to create remedies in my herbal apothecary, making medicine and salves. I am always taking classes or reading books, studying and learning different ways plants can nurture and heal us.
In my journey toward becoming a midwife, I was studying to become a CPM with Midwives College of Utah and learning from local midwives. I also explored doula services as a way to support birthing families. However, I have taken a small break from attending births to be at home with my young children. Not wanting to miss out on any learning opportunities in this ever-changing world, I regularly take classes and keep up with current research on anything and everything perinatal, and I can't wait to resume my professional studies soon.
Pregnancy, birth, and caring for a newborn, as well as your postpartum self, is a sacred time that deserves to be celebrated and nurtured. Every childbearing person should feel seen and heard, know their options, and have the final say in their informed decisions. It is truly an honor to walk beside folks during this phase of their lives.
